REASONABLE ACCOUNTING LLC

Privacy notice

Notice version: 2026-09-17-public-1. Reasonable Ledger is operated by Reasonable Accounting LLC. Create an account and complete multi-factor authentication before accessing financial information or connecting a bank.

Purpose and information collected

Reasonable Accounting LLC uses Reasonable Ledger to maintain general ledgers, categorize transactions, obtain client explanations, and prepare draft financial reports. We store user identifiers and email, client workspace membership, accounting categories, coding rules, transactions, notes, client replies, consent records, and activity history.

Statements and client approvals

We store uploaded PDF statements privately, along with extracted transaction candidates and review progress. PDF text extraction and English scan reading run in your browser using software served by this portal; the portal does not send statements to an outside document-conversion service. Extraction can make mistakes or miss entries. The accounting team reviews entries before importing them.

If the accounting team requests final review, the portal stores the exact bookkeeping version, acknowledgment text, signed-in client identity, entered name, decision, comments, and time. The client can approve or request changes. Approval does not authorize a tax filing or payment. Changes to the underlying work require a new version before approval or finalization.

Bank connection data

When enabled, you choose which accounts to authorize through Plaid or your bank. We receive authorized account names, institution, type, masked account identifiers, and transaction history for bookkeeping. Bank credentials are entered with Plaid or your bank; this portal does not collect bank passwords. Connection access tokens are encrypted and restricted to the server. Please read Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy.

Use and sharing

We use the information to perform the accounting services described above and operate, support, and secure the portal. Firm administrators can access all live client workspaces. Other accounting staff can access their assigned workspaces. Clients can access their own authorized questions, uploads, and released review versions. Hosting and infrastructure providers process data to operate the service, and Plaid processes authorized bank data when connected. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect lawful rights.

Consent and control

Before bank linking, the portal requires explicit, versioned authorization to collect, process, and store the selected account data for accounting. You must have authority to share a business account. Disconnecting stops future retrieval but does not automatically delete existing accounting records. You may request deletion or correction through the portal or the contact below. We verify requests and explain any required retention.

Retention and disposal

Accounting records, uploaded statements, consent records, and activity history are retained to provide your accounting services and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. Disconnecting removes the connection token and stops future retrieval; it does not delete records already collected. Request deletion or correction using the portal or the contact below. We review requests and explain any records that must be retained.

Security

Access requires password sign-in and an authenticator code. Each request checks membership in the requested workspace. Bank access tokens are encrypted on the server and are never returned to your browser. Contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
